Argal Reservoir is a well established coarse fishery stocked with numerous big carp and pike over 30lb, bream over 15lb, roach and rudd transferred from the former College fishery which is now a nature reserve. The lake record carp is 42lb 8oz and the water has been re-stocked during 2009 with a good number of carp.
With several picnic and barbecue areas and excellent views across the water, Argal is ideal for a family afternoon out. The rustic children's play area is especially suitable for younger children and there is plenty of space for informal games. An ice-cream van visits during the summer and there are toilets on site suitable for disabled visitors.
