Lydford Country House offers luxury 5 Star accommodation within the Dartmoor National Park. Offering a range of good size stables and grazing for those wishing to bring their horses; riding lessons also available.
We have a range of good size stables and grazing for those wishing to bring their horses. Our location provides instant access to a wide range of excellent riding for riders of all abilities. We are 100 yards from the open moor, plus the local roads, forests and commons provide many miles of hacking opportunities. Maps can be provided.
If you would like to grab a bite to eat in the saddle, packed lunches are provided on request.

Riding Lessons
We are able to arrange group and private lessons for all ages and abilities with our BHSI-accredited instructors. Please give at least a week's notice to ensure availability.
Escorted Rides
For those new to the area, we work closely with an independent guide who can escort you on rides to suit your requirements. Please give at least a week's notice to ensure availability.

You will be delightfully surprised with the wonderful dishes created by Valerio, our Italian chef.
Prices
£5 per hour Sandschool, £10 per day for guest to being their own horses, £25 per week for livery.
Accommodation
We have a choice of 11 spacious and well-equipped double and family rooms.
Two of the rooms have four-poster beds and all are en-suite with tea and coffee-making facilities. Breakfast can be taken in your room with newspapers of your choice also delivered to your door (both by prior arrangement).
Rooms are available at 3pm on the day of arrival and should be vacated at 11am on the day of departure.The house is surrounded by extensive gardens and grounds where you can stroll and get to know some of our resident horses, hens, ducks, cats and sheep, or sit on the patio next to the ponds and relax to the sound of the waterfalls while enjoying a cream tea.
Well-behaved pets are welcome by prior arrangement (small extra cost), with dog baskets available on request.

From Exeter
Take the Westbound A30 (signposted Okehampton) for approximately 20 miles. Turn off at Tavistock / Plymouth exit onto the A386, the first junction after Okehampton.
The turning for Lydford is approximately 4 miles on the right opposite the Dartmoor Inn.
We are 400 metres on the right just before you pass over the bridge into the village.
From Plymouth
Head out on the A386, Tavistock road, pass through Tavistock heading for Okehampton
After 6 miles you will come to Lydford , turn left into the village opposite the Dartmoor Inn.
