Set in its own 40 acres, 16th century Tarr Farm Inn nestles just above Tarr Steps and the River Barle. Only 7 miles from Dulverton, through beautiful wooded valleys and across the open moorland of Winsford Hill with stunning views of Wales, Devon and Dartmoor, Tarr Farm is the ideal location to take advantage of all that Exmoor National Park and North Devon has to offer.
 
Shooting

Tarr Farm is surrounded by exceptional quality shooting - there are numerous shoots across Exmoor. Within an easy 30 minute drive you'll find five of the best commercial shoots in Europe; this area really is world-class when it comes to partridge and pheasant shooting.
 
Whether you are looking for a rough walked-up day or a formal driven shoot, there is plenty of choice and we are happy to advise on the best shoot for you and make all your arrangements prior to your stay at Tarr Farm.

Other activities

There are so many ways in which to enjoy Tarr Farm's incredible surroundings.  For the sporty, the options are endless - mountain biking, rock climbing and abseiling, kayaking, surfing on the North Devon coast (just 40 minutes away), horse riding, sailing and windsurfing at nearby Wimbleball Lake, clay pigeon shooting and fly or sea fishing. Or how about a 4X4 off-road safari - a great way to see Exmoor from a different perspective!

We are committed to offering the best dining experience on Exmoor. We make full use of the abundance of excellent produce that surrounds us - Exmoor lamb, Devon Red Ruby beef, fresh Cornish seafood, local venison and game all feature in the restaurant and provide real local flavour.

Each of the nine rooms at Tarr Farm Inn has been designed to provide every modern comfort.
