The Lanhydrock Shoot operates over about 30 days a year of which 12 are home days for a family syndicate and the rest are for let days.
The Shoot works with the topography of the Estate. We try to give guns traditional English drives. Some people like standing in woods, others prefer to stand in a line in a field and we try to get a balance between the two.
We offer walked up shooting because of the costs involved in coming down to Cornwall, so we will often shoot over two days. On these days there are probably four or five beaters with the team of guns.
Four Let Days available for 2012/2013 season are as follows:
Thursday 1st November, Wednesday 21st November, Wednesday 28th November and Saturday 8th December
Fishing on the River Fowey
Lanhydrock Estate owns approximately one mile of the River Fowey and the fishing rights are run and managed through Newbridge Angling. While there is a long waiting list we do see about 3 members leaving and 3 new members joining each year, so if you are a keen fisherman and have all the relevant licenses, then you might like to call the Estate office and put your name on the waiting list.
Bags of 150 to 200 up to end of December and 100 plus birds thereafter until the end of January. Walked-up shoots - the bag is usually 30 - 50 birds and then the next day will be the driven day.
Who offer Fishing
This beat, like Treburtle downstream, is a long beat providing brown trout and grayling fishing. There is a good head of trout around the 10" mark although it has produced a monster of 2lb in the past.
River Torridge, North Lew, South Yeo
This beat provides good brown trout fishing through some lovely little runs and deep pools. It is generally easy fishing with habitat improvements undertaken by the owners.
River Exe, Little Exe, Week Bridge
A lovely section of the upper river providing fishing for wild brown trout within the Exmoor National Park.

Relax, recharge and enjoy a delicious Devon cream tea on our patio overlooking the Japanese water garden, or settle in front of a crackling log fire during the colder months.
Set on the rugged North Devon coastline, The Clovelly Shoot comprises long, deep wooded valleys, rising in some places to over 400 feet above the guns with many of our drives bordering the sea.
